The mission of the ACS Chemistry Club at the University of Minnesota Morris is to host fun science-themed events for all students on campus to engage in to increase an appreciation for science and to have fun! We also provide resources for students on campus to be able to have study nights, travel to conferences, become connected with professors, and more.

Student Services Fees are mandatory assessments on each campus and provide non-instructional activities and services that make significant contributions to student development. These non instructional programs and activities supplement the academic curriculum and are an integral part of the University educational experience. Both the level and scope of assessment are set through a representative process determined by the Chancellor/Provost on each campus under guidelines determined by the Board of Regents. Each campus will have a fees committee with student majority membership that will recommend a fee to the Chancellor/Provost. Each campus administration will recommend a fee to the Board of Regents. Any exceptions from payment of this fee require authorization by the Board of Regents.

Big Friend Little Friend is a community outreach program dedicated to providing positive role models for elementary school children in the Morris community, and allowing the opportunity for positive relationships to develop between these children and UMM students. This is through pairs spending an average of 2 hours together each week, and having special group activities throughout the year. In addition, this program allows university students to engage in the community and to develop into more responsible individuals. Overall, participation in BFLF is a great way to make a positive impact on a child’s life and is a wonderful way to get involved in the Morris community.

The University of Minnesota Morris Cougar Cheer is a group of students who are dedicated to supporting the Morris Campus, athletics, and the community. Our team is made up of students with a variety of backgrounds in cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, and even no athletic experience at all. We bring entertainment and performances to games and special event performances. Cougar Cheerleading is open to any student who is willing to learn new skills, work hard, and promote school spirit. While many members have some background in cheer it is not a requirement in any way.

Jane Addams is an intercultural activity where UMM students and members of the local Hispanic community interact in a bilingual setting. It has taken place on Tuesday evenings during the academic year since 2010. It is run by student interns who then become volunteer leaders.

New Student Welcome Week is held for all new incoming UMN Morris students before the start of fall semester. This is your chance to get better acquainted with campus and find out all of the information you need to know before classes start. If you’ll be living on campus, this is also when you will move in at your scheduled move-in time.


Spanning four days, Welcome Week is full of activity and fun you won’t want to miss out on. The first day of Welcome Week includes moving into your residence hall, with a welcome picnic and kick-off event held later in the day.

make connections with a group of new students and an experienced student leader;
