Student Services Fees are mandatory assessments on each campus and provide non-instructional activities and services that make significant contributions to student development. These non instructional programs and activities supplement the academic curriculum and are an integral part of the University educational experience. Both the level and scope of assessment are set through a representative process determined by the Chancellor/Provost on each campus under guidelines determined by the Board of Regents. Each campus will have a fees committee with student majority membership that will recommend a fee to the Chancellor/Provost. Each campus administration will recommend a fee to the Board of Regents. Any exceptions from payment of this fee require authorization by the Board of Regents.

The University of Minnesota Morris Cougar Cheer is a group of students who are dedicated to supporting the Morris Campus, athletics, and the community. Our team is made up of students with a variety of backgrounds in cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, and even no athletic experience at all. We bring entertainment and performances to games and special event performances. Cougar Cheerleading is open to any student who is willing to learn new skills, work hard, and promote school spirit. While many members have some background in cheer it is not a requirement in any way.

Jane Addams is an intercultural activity where UMM students and members of the local Hispanic community interact in a bilingual setting. It has taken place on Tuesday evenings during the academic year since 2010. It is run by student interns who then become volunteer leaders.

New Student Welcome Week is held for all new incoming UMN Morris students before the start of fall semester. This is your chance to get better acquainted with campus and find out all of the information you need to know before classes start. If you’ll be living on campus, this is also when you will move in at your scheduled move-in time.


Spanning four days, Welcome Week is full of activity and fun you won’t want to miss out on. The first day of Welcome Week includes moving into your residence hall, with a welcome picnic and kick-off event held later in the day.
