Mission
The mission of the ACS Chemistry Club at the University of Minnesota Morris is to host fun science-themed events for all students on campus to engage in to increase an appreciation for science and to have fun! We also provide resources for students on campus to be able to have study nights, travel to conferences, become connected with professors, and more.

Student Services Fees are mandatory assessments on each campus and provide non-instructional activities and services that make significant contributions to student development. These non instructional programs and activities supplement the academic curriculum and are an integral part of the University educational experience. Both the level and scope of assessment are set through a representative process determined by the Chancellor/Provost on each campus under guidelines determined by the Board of Regents. Each campus will have a fees committee with student majority membership that will recommend a fee to the Chancellor/Provost. Each campus administration will recommend a fee to the Board of Regents. Any exceptions from payment of this fee require authorization by the Board of Regents.

Big Friend Little Friend is a community outreach program dedicated to providing positive role models for elementary school children in the Morris community, and allowing the opportunity for positive relationships to develop between these children and UMM students. This is through pairs spending an average of 2 hours together each week, and having special group activities throughout the year. In addition, this program allows university students to engage in the community and to develop into more responsible individuals. Overall, participation in BFLF is a great way to make a positive impact on a child’s life and is a wonderful way to get involved in the Morris community.

The University of Minnesota Morris Cougar Cheer is a group of students who are dedicated to supporting the Morris Campus, athletics, and the community. Our team is made up of students with a variety of backgrounds in cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, and even no athletic experience at all. We bring entertainment and performances to games and special event performances. Cougar Cheerleading is open to any student who is willing to learn new skills, work hard, and promote school spirit. While many members have some background in cheer it is not a requirement in any way.

We can be seen performing at the home football & basketball games and other select events on campus!

Dance Ensemble (DE) is an organization that welcomes all students at all levels of dance. DE has beginner, intermediate and advanced dances that are choreographed by students.

Styles of dances DE offers are: Lyrical, Contemporary, Swing, Heels, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theatre and Broz

Students will learn 3 minutes of a dance and perform them at the end of semester.

English Club strives to create a space for people to share and expand their love of stories. We meet for an hour each week for bookish discussion and debate, to watch book to screen adaptations, to talk genre and tropes, and to generally enjoy the company of fellow book lovers. Non-English majors/minors are welcome! We help put on events such as the annual Banned Books Reading, Blind Date with a Book, an annual Escape Room, and plenty more. Floating World is UMN Morris's organization for creative writers, as well as the name of our annual, student-produced literary magazine that is published in the spring. During the school year, we hold weekly prose, poetry, and comic writing groups in which student writers can share and workshop pieces, respond to fun prompts, work through ideas in a supportive atmosphere, and prepare for publication in the magazine. All students of various experience, talents, interests, and genres are welcome—our purpose is to build a strong community of literary and visual storytellers of all kinds.
