Independent Student Group (ISG)

Definition: A voluntary association comprised primarily of students that has no direct relationship to the University, but upon completion of the established registration process is entitled to certain privileges including: operating, meeting, advertising, and participating in activities on the UMN Morris campus; as well as eligibility to receive services from Student Activities and funding through the Activities Fee Review Committee.

The University of Minnesota Morris Cougar Cheer is a group of students who are dedicated to supporting the Morris Campus, athletics, and the community. Our team is made up of students with a variety of backgrounds in cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, and even no athletic experience at all. We bring entertainment and performances to games and special event performances. Cougar Cheerleading is open to any student who is willing to learn new skills, work hard, and promote school spirit. While many members have some background in cheer it is not a requirement in any way.

We can be seen performing at the home football & basketball games and other select events on campus!
