The Academic Center for Enrichment empowers students to expand their academic and professional horizons through transformative experiences in research, creative activity, global engagement, high-impact internships, competitive fellowships, and honors education. By integrating the offices of Study Abroad, McNair Scholars, Internships, Research and Creative Activity, Fellowships and Awards, Honors Program, National Student Exchange, and Scholars Stipends, we foster inclusive excellence, curiosity, and leadership across disciplines and borders.

The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement program is one of a suite of federal TRiO programs sponsored by the US Department of Education. Its purpose is "to prepare eligible participants for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities."

The mission of the ACS Chemistry Club at the University of Minnesota Morris is to host fun science-themed events for all students on campus to engage in to increase an appreciation for science and to have fun! We also provide resources for students on campus to be able to have study nights, travel to conferences, become connected with professors, and more.

Student Services Fees are mandatory assessments on each campus and provide non-instructional activities and services that make significant contributions to student development. These non instructional programs and activities supplement the academic curriculum and are an integral part of the University educational experience. Both the level and scope of assessment are set through a representative process determined by the Chancellor/Provost on each campus under guidelines determined by the Board of Regents. Each campus will have a fees committee with student majority membership that will recommend a fee to the Chancellor/Provost. Each campus administration will recommend a fee to the Board of Regents. Any exceptions from payment of this fee require authorization by the Board of Regents.

The UMN Morris Athletic Department Statement of Philosophy

The Athletic Department of UMN Morris seeks to establish and maintain an atmosphere which supports the educational mission of the University by ensuring that each student-athlete's athletic activities are part of the overall educational experience. To achieve this end, the Athletic Department:

Big Friend Little Friend is a community outreach program dedicated to providing positive role models for elementary school children in the Morris community, and allowing the opportunity for positive relationships to develop between these children and UMM students. This is through pairs spending an average of 2 hours together each week, and having special group activities throughout the year. In addition, this program allows university students to engage in the community and to develop into more responsible individuals. Overall, participation in BFLF is a great way to make a positive impact on a child’s life and is a wonderful way to get involved in the Morris community.

The Clifford J. Benson Center for Community Partnerships fosters campus-community collaborations to address needs in small towns. The Benson Center includes two units, the Center for Small Towns and the Office of Community Engagement, and works closely with the Office of Sustainability and the Morris Challenge. All four units are co-located in UMN Morris’ Welcome Center.

The University of Minnesota Morris Cougar Cheer is a group of students who are dedicated to supporting the Morris Campus, athletics, and the community. Our team is made up of students with a variety of backgrounds in cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, and even no athletic experience at all. We bring entertainment and performances to games and special event performances. Cougar Cheerleading is open to any student who is willing to learn new skills, work hard, and promote school spirit. While many members have some background in cheer it is not a requirement in any way.

We can be seen performing at the home football & basketball games and other select events on campus!

Dance Ensemble (DE) is an organization that welcomes all students at all levels of dance. DE has beginner, intermediate and advanced dances that are choreographed by students.

Styles of dances DE offers are: Lyrical, Contemporary, Swing, Heels, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theatre and Broz

Students will learn 3 minutes of a dance and perform them at the end of semester.
