We’re excited to begin our Book Club with First Gen: A Memoir by Alejandra Campoverdi. If you haven’t had a chance to read the book yet, you may consider reading the audiobook version (linked) available through the library—narrated by the author herself! (following Tortillas Made with Love event)

In this powerful story, Alejandra reflects on her experiences as a first-generation Latina navigating identity, higher education, family, belonging, and the emotional toll of social mobility. We hope you enjoyed the book as much as we did and look forward to hearing your thoughts during our discussion!

Tuesday, March 18th
6:00-7:00 PM
@ the Turtle Mountain Cafe (TMC).

Before our conversation, from 5-6pm, we’ll be treated to a cooking demo on making tortillas, hosted by EDI—a great way to connect with and honor the book’s cultural context.
