  • SNAP- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-UPDATES💲📝

In collaboration with the Income Maintenance Unit of Stevens County Human Services and Morris Food Justice, we provide students with information about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). We can help you determine if this program is suitable for you.

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) assists low-income Minnesotans by providing supplemental benefits to help stretch their food budget.

Federal Shutdown and SNAP Benefits 10.23.2025

Due to the federal government shutdown, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and MFIP (Minnesota Family Investment Program) food benefits may not be issued in November. The cash portion of MFIP will be issued.

We know this situation is confusing and stressful. Please know you are not alone and there are community resources available to help you and your family.

    What You Can Do

If you currently receive SNAP or MFIP:

If you have been receiving benefits, continue to use them as usual for now. October benefits are not impacted.

Keep your contact information up to date with your county or Tribal nation so that you can receive important updates and information about your case.

If you think you may be eligible for SNAP:

You can still apply for benefits. Counties and Tribal Nations will continue reviewing and processing applications. https://mnbenefits.mn.gov/
